OpenBIM: A Technical Overview

We will focus on the principles of openBIM, an open standards-based approach to Building Information Modeling (BIM). The session aims to provide attendees with a deep understanding of how openBIM facilitates seamless collaboration and interoperability. It covers the key technical aspects, including data exchange protocols, standardized formats, such as Industry Foundation Classes (IFC), BIM Collaboration Format (BCF), and Information Delivery Specifications (IDS). Participants will obtain foundational information regarding openBIM standards, suitable for anyone interested to learn about openBIM – previous knowledge is not required.
